The content of Statistical Society was selected 386 with statistical faculty members. With information gained from questionnaires completed by visitors, and statistical calculations based on the distribution of origin of visitors and estimating travel costs showed that economic value of Bamdezh promenades is low. In this study, the economic value of recreational Bamdezh promenades, is estimated 333515533 Rials. The results of this study are provided valuable information in order to achieve promoting recreational level of Bamdezh wetland.

Abstract

Wetlands are high-efficiency ecosystems that play an important role in the well-being of human societies. However, the health of these valuable ecosystems around the world, especially in developing countries, is severely affected by environmental pressures from human activities. Wetlands are known as one of the important centers for meeting the needs of recreation, On the other hand, given the growing demand of the people for the use of recreational resources and a study of the demands of the people to provide the necessary facilities and facilities, it is important. Economic valuation is a useful tool for estimating and comparing the benefits of wetlands and the costs associated with protecting them. In this research, the economic valuation of Pirsalman wetland has been investigated using the method of individual travel cost and linear functional form. 400 questionnaires were distributed among the visitors. Data were collected cross-sectionally and surveyally at the level of wetland visitors in 2019. Based on the results, marital status, occupation, age, income, distance to the lagoon and travel costs are the most effective factors on the number of annual visits. The surplus of individual consumers for the average number of visits was 1391500 Rials. Therefore, the surplus of the individual consumer is estimated at 347875 Rials per visit. Also, the total number of annual visits to the lagoon is estimated at 650,000 people. Therefore, the surplus of the expected total consumer is estimated at 22611875000000 Rials, which indicates the annual recreational value of the wetland. The results of this study provide valuable information to improve the recreational level of Pirsalman Wetland and can be useful for decision makers in long-term planning.

Abstract

Economic valuation of environmental resources is allocated great part of environmental economic studies. Environmental economist believed that economic valuation is necessary for non-market and environmental of resource services. The purpose of this paper is determining of the recreational and environmental value of Pir-Salman wetland in Asadabad county (Hamedan Province) services. So, for this, individual travel cost method is used in Backer household production function framework. Accordingly, recreational production function is estimated for calculation of travel shadow price. Then, travel demand function is estimated by travel shadow price data. In this study, data are gathered from 73 visitors as random sampling. Questionnaire filled in spring and summer of 2014. The results show that the time, distance and costs of travel are effective factors on production recreation and recreation marginal cost, with the assumption of competitive conditions, is equivalent to 208800 Rials per days which is shadow price of recreation. Annual recreational value of wetland is 626.4 Mil Rials.  Also demand for recreation has negative relationship with the shadow price of recreation and has a positive relationship with income. On the other hand, visitor’s willingness to pay (WTP) has a significant and positive relationship with quality of the environment, educations level and age and marriage status of visitor. So, increasing environmental quality and preparing facilities in Pir-Salman wetland by private sector investing will have increased environmental and recreation value of this wetland. Also, Pir-Salman wetland tourism development strategic document preparing is necessary and inevitable to have road map for increasing of visitors and decreasing distractive environmental effects.
