<span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="unicode-bidi:embed"><span style="line-height:115%"><span calibri="" style="font-family:"><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times="">In order to identify fish parasitic cestodes from the Shahpour River and Seyed Hossein Spring in 2023, a total of 38 fish from four species <i>Albumus mossulensis</i>, <i>Cyprinion</i> <i>macrostomum</i>, <i>Capoeta barroisi persica</i>, and <i>Garra rufa</i> were caught and kept alive, then transferred to the Parasitology Laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Islamic Azad University, Kazeroun Branch. The samples were examined in the parasitology laboratory of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Kazerun. After anesthetizing the fish, biometric measurements were conducted for species identification, and their abdominal cavities and viscera were examined for the presence of cestodes. The results showed that only the <i>Bothriocephalus</i> sp. was isolated and identified from the intestine of the female <i>A. mossulensis</i>. 40% of the <i>A. mossulensis</i> were infected with <i>Bothriocephalus</i> sp., while the other fish were not infected. Subsequently, the <i>Bothriocephalus</i> sp., was studied using molecular methods.
