During the last few decades, various projects have been carried out to manage dry watersheds in the country. Considering that watershed management measures on a large scale in the country have a long history, hence the quantitative evaluation of the implemented measures has not been given much attention. This is even though the evaluation of watershed management plans to analyze the measures taken and formulate basic solutions is one of the basic needs in this field. In this study, the effect of the implementation of the water catchment system construction project in Biji forestry of Karaj through the combination of vegetation in relation to edaphic characteristics has been investigated. In this context, four regions were considered after the implementation of the plan in 1986 and one control region. The results showed that the plant species in the 4 investigated areas are in two distinct directions based on CCA analysis. The plant species of group A, B and C are mostly perennial species and among the climax species. After the implementation of the watershed management plan, the adaptation and similarity of flora between the regions has been established. Meanwhile, the results showed that there is a big difference between the plant composition of the area before the implementation of the plan and after the implementation of the plan. The amount of nutrients and the percentage of saturated moisture were higher after the implementation of the project than before the implementation of the project. The results of one-way analysis of variance showed that there is a significant difference between the studied areas in terms of diversity and richness. The results of comparing the averages for diversity and richness also showed that the diversity and richness of species in the areas after the implementation of the plan differed from the control area and their values are higher than the control area.
